MMA PUT ON A GREAT SHOW IN ANAHEIM

Affliction Banned hosted it first MMA event this past Saturday at the Home Depot Arena in Anaheim. The event was a sold out show with Megadeth playing in between fights, all fans left happy after seeing some of the best MMA fighting in months.

In the Main Event Fedor “the Last Emperor” Emelianenko of Stary Oskoi, Russia beat Tim “Maine-iac” Sylvia of Bettendorf, Iowa in the first round of a WANNA Heavyweight championship bout. Fedor [28-1, 6 KO’s, 15 Submissions] came out slugging early dropping Sylvia [24-5, 16 KO’s, 2 Submissions] to the canvas and tackling him to quickly put him into submission winning in the first round.

The Co-Main Event Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski of Chicago, Illinois won a 3^rd round Knockout of “Big” Ben Rothwell of Kenosha, Wisconsin in a heavyweight bout. A great fight where both fighter were landing power shots then in the 3^rd round Arlovski [13-5, 9 KO’s, 3 Submissions] goes for the kill and landed a monster overight hand follow by uppercut to knock out Rothwell [29-6, 17 KO’s, 10 Submissions]

Another great heavyweight bout was between Josh “The Baby faced Assassin” Barnett of Seattle, Washington and Pedro “The Rock” Rizzo. Barnett [23-5, 5 KO’s, 14 Submissions] glazed a powerful right hand shot to Rizzo [16-8, 9 KO’s, 4 Submissions] faces then a straight jab send Rizzo flat on his back Barnett then lands two more shot on Rizzo chest when referee stop bout. Barnett wins a 2^nd round knockout of Rizzo.

In the lightweight bout Savant Young [10-7, 2 KO’s, 5 Submissions] of Lakewood, California beat Mark “The Machine” Hominick [15-9, 7 KO’s 5 Submissions] in a 2^nd round Submissions

In the light heavyweight bout Renato “Babalu” Sobral [30-7, 2 KO’s, 16 Submissions] of Costa Mesa, California wins a unanimous decision over Mike Whitehead [21-6, 5 KO’s, 11 Submissions] of Salt Lake City, Utah.

The 2000 Olympic Wrestling Silver Medalist Matt “The Law” Lindland [21-5, 6 KO’s, 8 Submissions] of Oregon City, Oregon wins a unanimous decision against Fabio “Negao” Nascimento [8-4, 4 KO’s, 2 Submissions] of San Paulo, Brazil in a middleweight bout.

Antonio Rogerio “Minotoro” Nogueira [14-3, 3 KO’s, 5 Submissions] of Vitoria Da Conquista, Brazil gets a technical knockout against Edwin Dewees [35-13-1, 3 KO’s, 25 Submissions] of Palo Alto, California in a Heavyweight bout.

JJ Ambrose [10-1, 2 KO’s, 5 Submissions] of Lakewood, California puts Mike “Quicksand” Pyle [15-6-1, 2 KO’s, 13 Submissions] of Las Vegas, Nevada into submission in the first round to win a welterweight bout.

Terry Martin [17-5, 10 KO’s, 5 Submissions] of Chicago, Illinois gets knock out by Vitor “The Phenom” Belfort [17-8, 11 KO’s, 2 Submissions] of Curitiba, Brazil in the 2^nd round of a light heavyweight bout.
